Cutting Mitre Joints in Architraves
for Door Frames

Firstly, do not assume that the angle of your doorframe is a perfect 90-degree right angle.

Use the Template to copy the internal angle of the doorframe for your architrave (fig. 16).

Then use the Template to set the pivoting workpiece holders in the internal angle position and lock the workpiece holders in position.

Place the architrave that is to be fitted to the left of the proposed mitre joint in the left-hand locked workpiece holder (fig. 17) for cutting.

Place the architrave that is to be fitted to the right of the proposed mitre joint in the right-hand locked workpiece holder (fig. 17) for cutting.

Cut the perfect mitre joint for your doorframe architrave

This technique also can apply to wooden window frame architraves.
